Jennifer Campbell – Director / Senior Counsellor

Jennifer started at the centre in April 2016.

Jennifer came from Manitoba Justice prior to starting at IWRC.

Jennifer has a background in crisis intervention, addictions counselling, and protection planning.

Jennifer has her certificate for ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), First Aid, motivational interviewing, Aboriginal Cultural Awareness & mental health first aid.

Jennifer is a Commisioner of Oaths.

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts double major – Criminal Justice & Sociology from the University Of Winnipeg.

Penny Helgason – Child / Youth / Parent Counsellor

Penny has been with the centre since March 2016.

Penny has worked in various different positions, such as a librarian, an educational assistant.

Penny has her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba, Early Childhood Education level 2 from Red River College.

Penny has been certified to deliver the Roots of Empathy program.

Melissa Hornby – Women’s Counsellor

Melisa started with the centre in March 2017.

Melissa came from the Department of Families, Province of Manitoba

Melissa has a background in front line social work.

Melissa received her Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Human Ecology – Family Violence & Community Planning & Minor in Native Studies from the University of Manitoba.

Melissa is currently a registered social worker with the Manitoba College of Social Workers.

Melissa has completed ASIST, Canadian Association of Social Workers Ethics, Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Commisioner of Oaths.

Janice Knutson – Administrative Assistant

Janice started with the centre in August 2016.

Janice is who keeps us all organized and on track.

Janice has a background as office manager, real estate broker, and has worked with Women’s groups while she and her husband lived in Africa.

Janice is the smiling face when you first walk in the centre’s doors.
