Description
Interlake Counselling and Resource Centre (ICRC) is seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed Counsellor to join our team serving communities throughout the Interlake region of Manitoba.
The Counsellor provides counselling, crisis support, referrals, advocacy, and group programming to support individuals experiencing trauma, mental health concerns, gender-based violence, family conflict, social isolation, and other life challenges.
Responsibilities Include:
- Individual counselling and client support
- Intake, assessment, safety planning, and referrals
- Documentation and case note management
- Participation in group programs and community initiatives
- Collaboration with community partners and service providers
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in counselling, social work, psychology, human ecology, human services, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, prior learning, community-based experience, and lived/living experience
- Understanding of trauma-informed and client-centered practice
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
