We at IWRC offer various services to clients within our catchment area. These services include but are not limited to:
Walk in or phone. IWRC does receive referrals for outside agencies. We can help arranging for transportation to shelter, development of a protection plan. This is a voluntary service provided to assist abuse survivors in finding out the options and resources available.
Information and Referrals
Available by phone or in person. IWRC has a vast list of agencies, and resources available for the residents of our catchment area to access. Examples: mental health, addictions, child welfare, financial assistance, legal aid
Single Counselling for Women
This is offered by appointment, however walk ins can be seen if there is time available. Sessions will follow a plan that the client and counsellor agree on. Our counsellors have experience in emotional support, self-esteem, emotional health, referrals as needed.
Single Counselling for Children / Youth
This service is available by appointment. A parental intake is required before initial session with the youth can take place.
Child/Youth & Parent Counselling
Available by appointment. Our counselors can help mediate conversations between parent and child.
Workshops are available to education participants and communities on a wide variety of topics that are factors in the Interlake. Topics can include: body image, self-esteem, nutrition, eating disorders, financial fitness, stress management, law, and meditation. Continue to check the website for dates and locations of upcoming workshops.
This takes shape as need arises and if there are participants able to attend. Topics can be same as those listed above. Website will have up to date information on when groups take place.
Staff will come and speak to your group or organization about what IWRC is, and the programs we have.
Communities that are within our catchment area are: Inwood, Teulon, Arborg, Fisher Branch, Riverton, Gimli, Winnipeg Beach, Matlock, Dunnotor, Stonewall.
Counsellors are able to meet in communities by appointment to allow for ease of access.
IWRC is always on the lookout for amazing volunteers to help out with various events. Please contact us to find when and how to volunteer.
In office resources
IWRC is able to provide access to a computer, internet, phone, faxing and photocopying.
We do have commissioners of Oaths available in regard to sensitive documents.
